Costuming 

Along with working on lighting I plan on focusing on Costuming in my films. I want to focus on costume design because the costuming can portray characters attitude or mood. Costuming can also show what time period the film takes place and a characters status. 

Attitude/Mood

In the movie the Heathers, Winona Ryder character Veronica is portrayed wearing the color blue throughout the film. The blue represents depression and how Veronica is internally suffering from depression. Even the Veronica outfits change along with her status in the movie, the color blue always remain part of her wardrobe. 

Time Period

In the movie Gone With The Wind they use costuming as way to express to the viewers that the takes place during the Civil War.

Status 

In the film Means Girls the use costuming to show status. They do this by showing that the girls that wear skirts, mainly the girls called the plastics, are the most popular. We see this with Lindsey Loan character Cady. When she first joins the group she's wearing jeans. But as the movie goes on and Cady becomes more popular she stops wearing jeans and starts wearing skirts.
