What have I learned about Text and Image?
I have learned that text and image is mainly used for to point out problems in society. For example Banksy in an unknown British street artist. His works usually point different problems in our world. When Banksy first started first started his work much of it focused on the British government. For instance Banksy spray painted three men in trench coats listening in on people conversations. The is supposed to represent on how the government is always listening in on us and that we never have true privacy. But Banksy isn't the only one to use text and image to comment on social issues. Barbara Kruger is most know for her work with text and image. Most of her work focuses on the women's rights. One of Barbara Kruger most famous work is "Your body is a battle ground". The simple piece is used to express that women have to constantly fight for rights for their body. Women have to fight for the right to have an abortion. Women also have fight for the right to have birth control. But using text and image in the work Kruger is bringing awareness to the daily fights women have.
How do contemporary artist use text and image in their artwork?
While many artist use text and image to speak out against the government or other social issues. Others use it as a way to make a name for themselves. For instance Shepard Fairey became famous for his street painting of Andre the giant and the words obey underneath him. Fairey posted the images all around Los Angeles next to billboard signs saying to obey and go to McDonalds or to other places that were advertised on the billboards'. But sense then Fairey has expanded his Obey logo into other works. Such as when Fairey visited Dubai he stenciled a panting of mandala art with the Obey logo inside of star.

How might you be able to use text and image in your own work?
The only way I could really use text and image in my work if I used it as a picture in the background of my films. So if in one of my scenes I could I have a picture with text that deals with mental issues. For instance I could use the artwork by Shawncoss. His work deals depression, and that is something that my character is suffering from.
Is there something you find in your investigation that specially inspired you?
There was nothing that I found that during my investigation the specially inspired me to use text and image in my works. I might be able to do it in my works as background pieces, but I'm not going to go out of my way to put it in my work.
